SFCAC approves 247 cases under Mission Vatsalya Scheme

Reasi, Nov 23: In a significant step towards ensuring the well-being of children in need of care and protection, the Sponsorship and Foster Care Approval Committee (SFCAC) Reasi, under the chairmanship of District Magistrate, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, has approved 247 cases under the sponsorship program of the Mission Vatsalya scheme, Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoW&CD) here on Saturday at its meeting.
During the meeting, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Sachin Sharma provided a comprehensive briefing on different cases received under the scheme.
The Committee headed by District Magistrate meticulously scrutinised all applications to ensure that the children eligible for the scheme receive the necessary support, while staying within their community and cultural environment.
Speaking on the occasion, District Magistrate Vishesh Paul Mahajan reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for vulnerable children, allowing them to grow and thrive without displacement from their families or communities.
The DM emphasised that the approval is a testament to Reasi administration’s dedication to safeguarding children’s rights and supporting their holistic development.
The meeting was attended by DCPO Sachin Sharma; Chairperson of the child Welfare Committee Reasi, and other committee members, reflects a collaborative effort to uplift and empower children through strategic welfare initiatives.
