Srinagar, Jan 06: The Department of Sericulture, under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme-HADP, is actively implementing several beneficiary-oriented schemes with a substantial 80-90% subsidy component. These schemes aim to empower farmers and the general public, offering substantial benefits.
The key schemes include the Development of Mulberry Plantation at Stakeholder’s Level – to support the cultivation of mulberry plants to enhance silk production; assistance for Construction of Rearing Houses – to provide aid for building rearing houses along with improved rearing appliances; establishment of Silk Reeling Related Units – to assist in the setup of units related to silk reeling for enhanced productivity; and Capacity Buildings – to focus on building the capacity and skills of individuals involved in sericulture.
