Jammu, Feb 27: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leaders from the Centre will chair a crucial Legislative Party meeting of the J&K BJP MLAs in Katra on Friday, where key party strategies for the upcoming budget session will be finalised.
The meeting will be attended by top BJP leaders, including BL Santosh, National General Secretary (Organisation) and Tarun Chugh, National General Secretary & Incharge of BJP’s J&K affairs, along with several other senior leaders.
BJP National President JP Nadda, who was initially scheduled to chair the meeting, has postponed his visit due to prior commitments. He will now visit Jammu on March 1.
A senior party leader from J&K said that all 28 BJP MLAs have been directed by the party high command to reach Katra by 10 am. He said three MPs, including two Lok Sabha members and one Rajya Sabha member, Ghulam Ali Khatana, have also been asked to attend.
The J&K BJP President, Sat Sharma, and BJP General Secretary (Organisation), Ashok Koul, will also be present at the meeting, which is set to take place at AMR Hotel.
The BJP high command is expected to emphasise nationalism as a key agenda in the upcoming budget session. The party leader said this stance will be clearly communicated to all BJP MLAs during the meeting.
Speaking at the All-Party Meeting in Jammu, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma said, “We have told the Speaker that BJP will not allow any anti-national activity, slogans or similar incidents in the Assembly during the upcoming budget session.”
