Secy DLSA flags off J&K carrom team for Sr. National C’ship

Srinagar, Nov 4: Sub-Judge, Secretary, District Legal Service Authority, Srinagar Fozia Paul on Friday flagged off Jammu and Kashmir Carrom team at TRC for participation in Senior National Carrom Championship to be held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi starting next week. 
According to an official statement, the team will represent Jammu and Kashmir at 50th (Golden Jubilee) Senior National Carrom Championship to be held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi from November 07 to 11, 2022.
Dy.SP Sheikh Aadil PC Srinagar International Airport, Zeeshan Khan Assisstant Director Tourism Kashmir, Rauf Tramboo Former Member J&K Sports Council, Mudasir Khan President, Adil Rashid Shah General Secretary, Adfar Jan Joint Secretary, Arif Sultan Secretary, Dawar Rashid and other members of the association were also present on the occasion.
J&KCA selected 12-member team – Furqan Nazir, Arsalan Nazir, Romin Fayaz, Shahid Ahmad, Fuzail Khan and Zaid Bin Ajaz in Men’s team while Anzalna Rafiq, Mehak Nabi, Kazima Khursheed, Ridda Maddni, Anisa Qayoom and Shazia Noor in Women’s team. Danish Bashir and Asra Shafi are Managers for Men’s and Women’s team respectively. Arif Sultan Secretary and Dawar Rashid Member of J&KCA will also accompany the team.
On the occasion, the guests – Fozia Paul, Zeeshan Khan and Rauf Tramboo interacted with the players and encouraged them to work hard in studies along sports for bringing laurels to UT. They wished all the players and association good luck for the championship.
Earlier, players were selected by selection committee of the J&K Sports Council headed by Nuzhat Ara Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, Maqsood Khan Manager SKISC with members of the J&K Carrom Association headed by Adil Rashid Shah General Secretary and Arif Sultan Secretary J&K Carrom Association were also part of screening committee of the J&K Carrom Association.
The championship is being organized by All India Carrom Federation and the 15-member team is sponsored by the J&K Carrom Association.
