JAMMU, Jan 09: Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations in Jammu, security has been significantly strengthened across the city. The main function for the Republic Day will be held at MA Stadium on January 26, with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha set to be the chief guest for the event.
To ensure foolproof security during the high-profile celebration, the security forces have already taken control of MA Stadium, where the key function will take place. Additional security measures have been put in place across Jammu City, particularly at all entry and exit points, with extra checkpoints and thorough vehicle checks. The authorities have also increased the deployment of security personnel to safeguard public safety.
In addition to the physical security presence, all CCTV cameras at prominent locations across Jammu have been activated. Security forces are closely monitoring these surveillance feeds in control rooms, ensuring 24/7 vigilance over the movement of people in the area. This is part of a larger effort to ensure that no anti-national elements attempt to disrupt the celebrations.
The security around the MA Stadium, the venue for the main Republic Day function, has been put on high alert, with additional deployments to guarantee smooth proceedings on the day.
The Beating Retreat ceremony, scheduled for January 29, will also see heightened security, with preparations already underway for a seamless event.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has urged all heads of departments (HoDs) and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) to ensure maximum participation from their departments in both the Republic Day function and the Beating Retreat ceremony, underscoring the importance of public engagement during these national celebrations.
