Srinagar, Nov 11: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Jammu, Samba, and Kathua Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, on Saturday affirmed that security forces remain resolute in their fight against terrorism, vowing to continue operations until complete success is achieved. Addressing the media in Jammu, DIG Sharma emphasized, “Our forces are well-trained and fully prepared to defeat terrorists and thwart their plans. Whatever path the terrorists take, we will defeat them in Jammu.”
Highlighting concerns over the growing militancy in Jammu province, DIG Sharma accused Pakistan of escalating unrest by employing new methods to fuel terrorism. “The enemy country is trying to worsen the situation and spread terror,” he said.
DIG Sharma praised the coordinated efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, army, and CRPF in combating terrorism. “Our forces are equipped and ready to stop these terrorists and their plots,” he stated, adding that public cooperation remains vital.
He urged residents to share any information regarding terrorist activities with authorities, assuring that informers’ identities will be protected and they will be rewarded. “Anyone providing credible information will have complete confidentiality,” he emphasized.
Addressing recent attacks on non-local workers, the DIG noted that security for national projects has been enhanced. “We have met with workers involved in these projects to discuss safety measures. They have been advised to stay alert and report any suspicious activity,” he explained.
Reiterating the commitment of the security forces, DIG Sharma said, “This is a challenging battle, but with our full strength and public support, we will restore peace.” He also stressed the importance of vigilance among civilians, urging them to remain in touch with authorities and immediately report suspicious behaviour.
“We are prepared to face any challenge, and with the combined efforts of our security agencies and the public’s cooperation, we will ensure peace in the region,” DIG Sharma concluded.
