Srinagar, Sept 24: In a major clampdown on operating terrorists and terror networks, The joint team of security forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have busted two terrorist modules in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The police officials revealed that five terrorist associates were arrested along with a huge cache of arms and ammunition.
A police spokesman said in a major success in curbing terrorist activities, Kulgam police along with 1RR, 9RR, 18 Bn CRPF, 46 BN CRPF busted two terrorist modules and arrested five hybrid terrorists along with arms and ammunition.
“Two Pistols, three Hand Grenades, one UBGL, Pistol magazine two ,pistol rounds 12, AK 47 Rounds 21, have been recovered from their possession,” he said.
Police have identified the accused as Aadil Hussain Wani son of Lal Din Wani resident of Poniwah, Suhail Ahmad Dar son of Siraj Ahmad Dar resident of Bugam, Aitmad Ahmad Laway son of Abdul Rashid Laway resident of Brazilian Jageer, Mehraj Ahmad Lone son of Bashir Ahmad Lone R/O Hawoora and Sabzar Ahmad Khaar son of Ghulam Mohammad Khar resident of Ghat Redwani Payeen.
Meanwhile in this regard case with FIR No. 62/2023 at Police Station Qaimoh and Case with FIR No. 167/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered and further investigation has been initiated in both cases.
Pertinent to mention, on Saturday, security forces apprehended two terrorists associated with proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and recovered incriminating materials, arms and ammunition from their possession in north Kashmir’s Baramulla.
They were identified as Yaseen Ahmad Shah son of Tariq Ahmad resident of Janbazpora Baramulla who was missing from his home and had joined proscribed terror outfit LeT/TRF.
