Sopore, Mar 09: Jammu and Kashmir Police along with security forces on Saturday claimed to have busted a terrorist hideout and recovered arms and ammunition in North Kashmir’s Sopore.
A police spokesman said that police received information through reliable sources regarding a possible hideout in the jurisdiction of PS Bomai.”
“Acting swiftly, Sopore police along with army 22 RR and CRPF 179 Bn launched an intense cordon and search operation in Logripora area. During this operation, one hideout of terrorists was busted and arms and ammunition were recovered from the said hideout”, he said.
The spokesman said that the recovery includes one Pistol, 02 pistol Magazines , 18 No of live pistol rounds and one pistol pouch. Terrorists have used this hideout as a safe place to keep arms and ammunition with a view to create a terrorist induced incident thereby disturbing the peace in the valley.
Police officials said that in connection with this incident, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Bomai and investigation has been set into motion.
