Sabreena Firdous, is a 21-year-old sculptor from Gulab Bagh Hazartbal Srinagar is winning heartsfor her creative artwork which she posts on social media.
Her passion for playing with clay started during her early childhood and now she has become the only sculptor in her area.
A student of Music and Fine Arts at University of Kashmir, she started doing sculpture art in 2019 by learning herself and joined the university in 2020 for a BA program.
She has been doing sculpture art over the past three years and uses Instagram to reach out to people. She makes clay carving, stone carving arts, calligraphy, painting, and also draws portraits.
Earlier this year, she participated in an event titled “1ST Bluethon of Valley 2022” (Colorectal Cancer Awareness Drive) at Nigeen Lake in Srinagar where she bagged first position in creative art competition.
Besides arts, she is also interested in sports. Notably, in 2015 she received Rajya Puraskar, known as the Governor’s Award in scouting when she was studying in 8th standard.
Recently, Sabreena displayed her artwork at Delphic Event at the University of Kashmir where she was widely appreciated for her sculpture artwork.
“Artist is just a title, though it may be earned one. More so, I am very passionate about creativity, using my imaginationin the process,” Sabreena said, adding “For artists trying to find their way, creativity will always be a winding path. Every time you create something you have the unique perspective of seeing the inner you. Your originality is at your fingertips.”
The young artist said she always loved to play with clay during her childhood and would make different things out of it but she never knew she will make it her career.
“I am doing my best at the university. I thank my all teachers there who always support me and encourage me. I also thank my family and my dear ones who always encouraged me,” she said.
Sabreena said she doesn’t imagine doing anything other than sculpting and she wants to present her artwork at national and international platforms.
