Kupwara, Dec 26: Ashok Koul, BJP General Secretary (Organisation) for J&K, and Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, BJP National Executive Member & Chairperson of JK Waqf Board, addressed public conventions in Kupwara and Tangmarg on Tuesday. The events commenced with a Worker’s Convention at Town Hall in Kupwara, organized by the newly-appointed District President Javed Qureshi and his team.
According to a party statement issued here, hundreds of party leaders and activists, along with numerous enthusiastic youths, joined the BJP on the spot.
Addressing the gathering, Ashok Koul highlighted the soaring popularity of the BJP, asserting its role as the viable replacement for dynastic political parties in J&K. He said that people from diverse backgrounds are joining the party, attracted by its transformative nationalistic programs that have positively impacted the country and the union territory.
“BJP means inclusiveness, BJP means progress, and we are delighted to see the youth of Kashmir proudly holding the party flag,” Koul said.
Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, in her address, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming trust bestowed upon the BJP by the people. Welcoming new members, she proclaimed that J&K has experienced freedom from separatism and exploitation politics over the past four years. Dr Darakhshan credited the peaceful environment in Kashmir to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fulfilled guarantee which enabled youth to lead secure lives due to unprecedented development in infrastructure, tourism, and innovation sectors.
The Waqf Board chairperson dismissed sceptics questioning the change and development in J&K, stating that such critics suffer from intellectual myopia.
The leaders later received a warm welcome in Tangmarg, where the Tourist Guides Association of Gulmarg & Tangmarg organized a heartfelt reception for Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. The association leaders, Tariq Ahmad and Zahoor Ahmad expressed their gratitude for Dr Andrabi’s prompt resolution of their livelihood issues.
Dr Darakhshan Andrabi reiterated the BJP’s commitment to fulfilling all assurances given to the public. She emphasized the party’s action-oriented approach, stating, “We don’t promise, we resolve, and fulfill our resolutions in the interest of the public. Our work speaks louder than our speeches.”
Prominent party leaders including Sajid Yousuf Shah, Er Sahil Bashir, and Arshad Bhat, actively participated in the events.
