Srinagar, July 17: The School Leadership Academy (SLA) of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Jammu and Kashmir – Kashmir Division on Thursday have successfully concluded the Second Phase of the Induction Training Programme for newly promoted Heads of Institutions (HOIs) from the districts of Anantnag, Shopian, and Kulgam. As per a statement issued here, the three-day professional training, organised in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir (DSEK) and hosted by DIET Anantnag, aimed at preparing school heads to take on their leadership roles with strategic clarity, pedagogical focus, and a deep commitment to institutional transformation.The programme was formally inaugurated online by the Secretary to Government, School Education Department, R. N. Sharma, who urged school heads to align their leadership vision with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on innovation, inclusivity, and accountability. The welcome address was delivered by Principal DIET Anantnag,Aijaz Ahmad Wani, followed by a special address from the Chief Education Officer, Anantnag, and a theme address by Kishore Kumar, Joint Director South Kashmir. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. G. N. Itoo, who emphasized the evolving role of HOIs as strategic leaders and catalysts of academic excellence and school development.The training covered a range of critical thematic areas, including Leadership Perspective Development, Strategic School Governance, Financial Management, Community Engagement, Development of Self and Leadership Skills, Value-Based Education, and the Formulation of Institutional Plans. The sessions were designed to be interactive, context-driven, and reflective, helping participants explore their leadership identity, enhance decision-making skills, and plan for outcome-oriented school transformation. The training also emphasized the importance of ethical conduct, inclusive practices, and capacity-building within the school ecosystem.
