Jammu, Mar 16: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Vice Chairman G M Saroori, who is also a candidate for the Lok Sabha seat Udhampur-Doda, conducted office bearers meetings in Banihal, Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda to strategize for the upcoming election campaign. Saroori underscored the importance of unity among officebearers and urged them to kickstart campaign activities on the ground.
Expressing confidence in securing victory, Saroori said there is a prevailing “anti-incumbency sentiment” towards the BJP candidate and the people’s eagerness for change. He pointed out the absence of visits by the BJP MP to the areas since their election win. Saroori lauded the party chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad, saying he was the sole leader from J&K who vocally addressed critical issues like Article 370 and statehood, while others remained silent.
“Only Ghulam Nabi Azad spoke like a warrior; all others were silent,” he remarked.
Promising to advocate for public issues and work towards their resolution, Saroori cautioned against engaging in hate and religious politics. He stressed that their focus would be solely on the welfare of the people. “Other parties may resort to playing the religious card, but division only damages communities. We must prioritize development as people are suffering without electricity, water, schools, and jobs. It is imperative that we address these issues,” he said.
The office bearers pledged their full support to Saroori, expressing confidence in his leadership for victory. Alongside Saroori were Chief Spokesperson DPAP Salman Nizami, Zonal President P.R. Manhas, District President Ramban Thakur Dharam Chand, Vice President Province Javid Malik, District President Doda Asif Gattu, and District President Kishtwar Shabir Lone, among others.
