Baramulla, Sep 06: Secretary J&K Advisory Board for the Development of Pahari Speaking people, Sapna Kotwal carried out an extensive tour to north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and took a firsthand appraisal of the basic facilities being provided to the students at Pahari Hostel there. She held a comprehensive review of the functioning of the hostel and interacted with the students and staff.
The Secretary was accompanied by District Social Welfare Officer Baramulla, Sajad Ahmad Bhat and other functionaries of concerned departments.
During her visit, the Secretary inspected the facilities being provided to the residents and directed the staff to ensure proper cleanliness and better infrastructure for the convenience of students. She interacted with the residing students and reiterated her commitment to providing every possible facility.
Later, Sapna chaired a meeting with the concerned functionaries to review the status of various upcoming projects meant for the overall development of the Hostel. During the meeting, she emphasised the need for maintaining cleanliness in and around the institutions and serving healthy food to the residents as per the menu.
The Secretary instructed to conduct awareness programs to sensitise the public about the services provided by the hostels. She called for the overall development of the residents and their participation in cultural and sports activities besides academic excellence. She also directed the wardens to remain vigilant on the issues of drug abuse to ensure that the residents stay away from any kind of drug.
