Jammu, June 27: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri on Thursday welcomed the Shri Amarnath Ji-bound yatris to Jammu and Kashmir for the annual pilgrimage and wished them a safe journey.
He hailed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha-led administration for making elaborate arrangements on both routes. He also praised the Government of India and Border Roads Organization (BRO) for widening the track to the cave shrine which made it much safer for pilgrims.
The BJP leader in a statement said, “Today when the first batch of pilgrims has set on to their journey, people across Jammu and Kashmir are jubilant and welcome them all to have a comfortable stay and a safe yatra.”
Raman also welcomed the group of pilgrims who had come from Bangladesh to have darshan at the Shri Amarnath Ji cave shrine, located at an altitude of about 13,000 feet from sea level, in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
“This is a matter of pride for Jammu and Kashmir to host this batch of pilgrims coming from our neighbouring country Bangladesh,” he said, adding that elaborate security measures are in place for the safety and security of all yatris.
Suri said the UT administration and the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi have left no stone unturned and have built massive infrastructure for the comfortable stay of yatris enroute to Shri Amarnath ji Cave shrine.
Urging pilgrims to follow the government guidelines for their own safety and health concerns, the BJP leader said the health department has also been geared up by the administration to provide better medical facilities to the yatris. “Right from registration to health checkups, to what to carry and what not, everything has been set right by the government, and the pilgrims must use this advisory for their own convenience and safety,” he said. This, he said, will help them avoid any botheration.
The BJP leader further said the LG administration has made elaborate stay arrangements for pilgrims at Saraswati Dham besides multiple other locations, which the yatris can utilise.
“This annual yatra brings with it sanctity, religious fervour, enthusiasm and spirit of patriotism and oneness besides a good economic boost for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Suri said, adding, “Right from Jammu to the cave shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji, pilgrims also enjoy their stay at different locations and bring with them a cultural extravaganza and economy, that is highly appreciated and looked at with respect and faith.”
