Sanjeev Verma chairs mega Gram Sabha at Panchayat Maitra- A

Commissioner Secretary, General Administrative Department, Sanjeev Verma, chaired a mega Gram Sabha and listened to the issues of PRIs and  general public  at Panchayat Maitra-A, Ramban block, under “Back to Village” phase-V on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, DDC member, Renuka Katoch, ADDC Rajinder Sharma, ADC Harbans Lal, ACR Ghias Ul Haq, ACD Ashok Katoch, Sarpanch Mohinder Singh and other senior officers, besides PRIs and people in large number participated in the programme.

Appreciating the commitment of public representatives from all three tiers of the Panchayati Raj system for development of their areas across the district, Commissioner Secretary asked them to work in coordination with the district administration to ensure infrastructural as well as social development of the society.

Sanjeev Verma lauded the role of frontline workers including ASHA and Anganwadi staff in sensitizing and maintaining physical health of children and women folk.

Commissioner Secretary directed the District Administration to focus on implementation of employment and other job oriented schemes on a mission mode, besides encouraging the youth to participate in recruitment process, especially for notified posts of police department at different levels.

Inspecting the stalls set up by the various departments including Revenue, Agriculture, Horticulture, Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Cooperative Department, Labour and Employment, Handloom and Handicrafts, District Industry Centre, ICDS, Social Welfare, J&K Bank and Lead Bank, SBI-RSETI and Jal Shakti, Commissioner Secretary directed them to provide benefit of the schemes to general public.

Sanjeev Verma impressed upon the Agriculture, Handloom, Handicraft and Cooperatives to scale up production of their products to ensure sufficient supply in the market which help to generate more job opportunities for the locals. He also advised them to ensure quality, attractive and eco-friendly   packaging of their products for its value addition.  He directed them to set up Rural Haats to provide marketing assistance to the handicrafts and village industries, artisans and farmers for their agro-based products.

Sanjeev Verma asked the District Administration and locals to launch a massive drive against drug abuse to declare the entire panchayats drug free in the district.

Commissioner Secretary distributed land passbooks, Nano urea kits, certificates among newly registered Cooperative Societies and sanction letters of loan cases among the beneficiaries.

Commissioner Secretary also inspected various development works at Phalti. He visited educational institutions and interacted with the students, teachers and locals.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is working under a well knit strategy to provide benefits of all the beneficiary oriented schemes to people, especially youth, women and deprived sections of the society. He also asked them to participate in such programmes to avail the benefits of all government schemes and programmes specially meant for upliftment of youth, women, socially and financially weaker sections of the society.

Earlier, PRIs and other speakers thanked the Commissioner Secretary for fulfilling their long pending demands highlighted in previous Back to Village meetings including up-gradation of Maitra – Billawat road with an expenditure of Rs 8.80 crore and indoor stadium at Phality.

They also highlighted their issues including, sanction of High School for Maitra, Girls Higher Secondary School for Ramban, building for Primary School, Bakshi Mohalla and Kundi School, Maternity & Children Hospital for Ramban, allotment of land to landless eligible people under Forest Right Act, sanction of new ration depots, water tank in ward no. 6, Maitra to Datua road, issuance of new ration cards, land compensation under TV tower to Gagwal road project, double lanning of Maitra bridge, appointment of doctor in NTPHC Maitra, development of play ground,   opening of Awass Plus portal to include new beneficiaries, completion of JJM schemes, etc.

Later, the participants were administered the Nasha Mukti pledge.
