Sanctorum School Sopore triumphed in the first-ever Inter-School Football Championship organized by Frisk Film Production Pvt Ltd in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
The league-based tournament, held at the Astro Turf TRC Srinagar, saw the participation of 16 teams, including eight school teams and eight football academies.
Sanctorum School, the sole representative from North Kashmir, showcased their dominance throughout the championship, remaining unbeaten in all matches except one.
Their only draw came against Tyndale Biscoe Srinagar, highlighting their consistency and resilience on the field.
In the semi-finals, Sanctorum faced a tough challenge from Kashmir Football Academy Srinagar but emerged victorious with a convincing 2-0 scoreline.
The final match against FFA Academy Srinagar proved to be a nail-biting encounter, with the result ultimately determined by a penalty shootout.
Sanctorum School clinched the title with a 4-3 victory, showcasing their composure under pressure.
The winning team was awarded a prestigious trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50,000, further cementing their outstanding achievement.
Additionally, the tournament recognized the exceptional goalkeeping skills of Ubaid from Sanctorum School, who was awarded the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament accolade.
Coach Ramiz Lone expressed immense joy and pride in the team’s performance, dedicating the victory to their loyal supporters and well-wishers.
