Kulgam, July12: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, inaugurated the Common Raw Water Main (CRWM) for three major water supply schemes including Dranbal Waripora, H N Guri and C S Rather at Dadran, Noorabad, D H Pora here today.The project, completed with at a cost of Rs. 7.42 crore, Rs. 1.71 crore and Rs. 1.22 crore respectively, will tap raw water from two alpine lakes of Pir Panchal, Bramha Sar and Chir Sar and carry it to a water treatment plant.Addressing a huge gathering on the occasion, the Minister said that the Omar Abdullah-led government is committed towards fulfilling the promises made to the people and is working tirelessly to ensure the prosperity, welfare and holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir. She added that the government is focused on delivering quality infrastructure and public services for people to improve their lives.She also raised serious concern over the growing drug menace, terming it as a grave issue that poses a threat to the fabric of society.Highlighting the development journey over the past months, the Minister also shared various works and initiatives undertaken across sectors including education, social welfare and public infrastructure.Sakeena said that commissioning of this vital infrastructure is expected to significantly improve the drinking water supply to the beneficiary areas and strengthen the region’s water management network.
