Ramban, Jan 02: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Leader and District President Ramban, Sajjad Shaheen has appealed to the railway authorities for the construction of an overhead bridge at the recently completed Khari Railway Station.
Expressing deep concern, Shaheen underscored the severe impact on several villages in the region that have been cut off since the railway station was completed and is likely to be made operational.
The newly constructed Khari Railway Station, while serving as a crucial transport hub, has unintentionally isolated numerous villages, creating significant accessibility challenges for residents, Shaheen said. He emphasized the need for immediate intervention of the LG administration and higher authorities of railways to rectify this situation and ensure that the benefits of the railway station are accessible to all.
The NC leader stated, “The new railway station at Khari holds immense potential for the area’s development, but its positive impact is overshadowed by the isolation of villages. An overhead bridge must be swiftly constructed to reconnect the cutoff villages and ensure they benefit from this vital transportation link,” he said.
Shaheen emphasized, “The safety of the people is paramount. The absence of an overhead bridge at Khari Railway Station poses a real danger to pedestrians, and swift action must be taken to rectify this oversight.
He called upon the authorities to prioritize the well-being of the local residents and expedite the construction of the overhead bridge.
