Kargil, Sep 08: The SAI Training Centre Kargil has made a mark on the national stage by securing 12 medals at the All India SAI Inter Regional Taekwondo Championship, held at SAI NSRC Lucknow from 4th to 6th September 2024. The team bagged an impressive tally of 4 Gold, 3 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals, showcasing their talent and dedication.
The Kargil team was led by renowned Taekwondo Coach and Sher-e-Kashmir Awardee Mohd Ali, along with Parveen Kumar, both of whom were instrumental in guiding the players to this remarkable victory. The performance of the athletes from the SAI Kargil Centre has garnered praise from various quarters.
Gulzar Hussain Munshi, President of the Ladakh Taekwondo Association, congratulated the team for their outstanding results and expressed his gratitude to the Government of India for establishing the SAI Centre in Kargil. “This Centre has provided our local athletes with the necessary infrastructure and opportunities to hone their skills and compete at national and international levels,” said Munshi.
He also lauded the efforts of the coaching team, particularly Coach Mohd Ali and Parveen Kumar, for their dedication and commitment to the athletes. “The hard work of the coaching staff and the support team has paid off, and this achievement is a testament to their efforts,” he added.
