Srinagar, Mar 30: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar on Wednesday impressed upon the administration to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the holy month of Ramzan, especially during Sehri and Iftar hours.
Sagar, who was interacting with the number of public and workers delegations here at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar said the power cuts mostly strike during Sehri and Iftari time. “Unavailability of power plunges streets into darkness and makes it difficult for people to reach local mosques to offer prayers in pitch darkness”.
He said assurances of the administration with regards to ensuring uninterrupted power supply have fallen flat.
Sagar said the administration has failed to ensure availability of essentials besides intensifying market checking to curb black marketing, hoarding and profiteering in the markets.
“Administration is not visible on the ground. Profiteers and black marketeers are having a field day in looting people. Prices of dates, and other Ramzan specific items are touching new heights every day. Strict adherence to government approved rate lists is seeing no implementation,” he added.
