Srinagar, Oct 24: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference general secretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar, and MLA Khanyar, on Thursday convened an Awami Darbar wherein he interacted with public delegations.
The delegations, as per the party statement, were from Dalgate, Brain, Ishber-Gupt Ganga and Nishat areas of the Khanyar constituency.
Officials from government departments and a large number of locals attended the Darbar to address day-to-day issues. Coordinator Khanyar, Abid Wani, facilitated the sessions. Block President Khanyar-B Bashir Ahmad Mir, along with all Halqa Presidents, youth office bearers, and Women’s Wing representatives were also present, the statement said.
The event was a platform for the community to voice their concerns and seek solutions from their elected representatives. The presence of government officials and community leaders ensured a productive and engaging dialogue.
“The commitment of the National Conference to address the needs of people was evident throughout the Darbar. The locals took the opportunity to bring their concerns to Sagar’s attention, who listened attentively and promptly directed officials to address the issues,” the NC said.
On the occasion, executive heads of various departments and Tehsildar Khanyar were also present. Issues such as water scarcity, erratic power supply, and ration problems were at the forefront of the discussions.
In response to the issues raised, Sagar pointed to the party manifesto, which includes 12 guarantees and other promises, as the roadmap to addressing the public’s grievances. He assured the people that the government, led by Omar Abdullah, would work tirelessly to fulfill all commitments.
The MLA stressed the vital role of the PHE department in resolving the water crisis plaguing the area.
A similar Awami Darbar was convened by MLA Habbakadal Shameema Firdous at Banquet Hall Srinagar.
