Srinagar, Nov 25: The Saba dental clinic organized a free dental hygiene awareness camp for students and locals of the Tangmarg area at Hoom village of Tangmarg sub-division.
The organizers of the dental camp said the general medical camps are organized on a regular basis. However, dental medical camps are never organized. Keeping this in mind, Dr. Saba Wani’s clinic hosted an awareness and comprehensive medical camp.
During the camp, the clinic’s owner performed a comprehensive dental checkup on all students from kindergarten to grade 8 at a local school in the nearby Tangmarg area.
They said around 50 school children benefited from this free camp. Out of the 50 school children that were examined, 36 needed treatment for dental caries. Almost all of the schoolchildren needed counseling and guidance on maintaining proper oral hygiene.
It was clear that the treatment needs of the schoolchildren were high, and oral hygiene appeared to be a neglected aspect of their lives. The purpose of the dental camp was achieved to its maximum with the efforts of all the people involved.
We are also thankful to the headmaster of the middle school, TangmargShowket Ahmad, Sameer Ahmad, the physical education teacher, and other staff members who provided us with the utmost help in organizing this dental camp.
Dr. Saba stated that the clinic will be organizing free dental health awareness camps in other areas of the district in the coming days to provide dental health services.
