Ganderbal, Feb 04: Rural areas in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, central Kashmir, are undergoing a transformative change in their electricity infrastructure. Ganiwan, Mamar, Kachpathri, and neighboring locations have recently seen the installation of advanced 63kv and 100kv transformers, complemented by robust iron poles and extensive wiring.
Local residents are expressing gratitude for the significant improvement, highlighting the stark contrast from the electricity supply challenges faced during harsh winters before 2019. The Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department is receiving praise for achieving commendable milestones in reshaping the power landscape of these rural areas.
An official from PDD said that the year 2023-24 alone marked the strategic placement of nine new 100kv electricity transformers and eleven new 63kv transformers in various locations within Sub Division Kangan. Additionally, the department laid down new electricity wires, covering a substantial distance of 12 kilometers.
Looking ahead, they assures the community of the department’s unwavering commitment to further enhance the power infrastructure. Future plans include installing more transformers, expanding electricity wiring, and deploying additional iron poles throughout the division. These initiatives aim to ensure that the local population faces no electricity-related challenges in the foreseeable future.
