Rs 2,119.86 lakh under HADP spent in Budgam in 2 years

3,194 farmers receive benefit

Budgam, Mar 18 : The Jammu and Kashmir government revealed in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday that ₹2,119.86 lakh has been utilized under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in Budgam district over the past two years, benefiting 3,194 farmers across various agricultural sectors.
The information was shared in response to a question by MLA Chadoora, Ali Mohammad Dar.
The Minister Incharge stated that the funds utilized were part of the ₹2,622.79 lakh sanctioned for the district under HADP. He further detailed that in 2023-24, an amount of ₹870.71 lakh was allocated, out of which ₹684.04 lakh was utilized. Similarly, in 2024-25, ₹1,752.07 lakh was sanctioned, with ₹1,435.82 lakh already spent.
Over the last two years, a total of 3,194 farmers have received financial and technical support under HADP. Among them, 2,721 farmers benefited from agricultural schemes, while 147 were supported under Animal Husbandry, 82 in Sheep Husbandry, 18 in Horticulture, 32 in Fisheries, 183 in Sericulture, and 11 in Horticulture Processing & Marketing (P&M).
It was also shared that government allocated substantial funds under different centrally sponsored and UT level schemes, including ₹36.20 lakh for Per Drop More Crop, ₹11.06 lakh for the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture, and ₹97 lakh for the RKVY scheme in 2024-25.
The Capex Budget for agriculture alone accounted for ₹151.84 lakh in 2023-24.
