RRIUM Srinagar organises seminar on Child and Maternal Healthcare in Unani System of Medicine

Srinagar, Feb 05: A national seminar on “Child and Maternal Healthcare in Unani System of Medicine” was organised at Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar, under the CCRUM Ministry of AYUSH Government of India on Monday at EMMRC Auditorium of University of Kashmir, Srinagar, J&K.
The Seminar is pre-activity being organized as a part of Unani day celebrations which is being held every year on 11th of February by CCRUM Ministry of AYUSH. Government of India.
This Seminar underscored the importance of Maternal health and childcare. Maternal health is a cornerstone in Unani Medicine, representing a fundamental aspect of societal well-being. Embracing the wisdom of nature, the system promotes preventive measures for children, emphasizing the importance of nutrition, hygiene and a supportive environment.
The event successfully engaged students and staff from various Unani Medicine colleges in Srinagar, generating enthusiasm and fostering a deeper understanding of Unani Healthcare principles.
Distinguished dignitaries present at the inaugural session included Prof. Dr Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice-Chancellor, IUST Awantipora, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, Registrar, University of Kashmir, Dr Bashir Ahmad Ganai, Dean School of Unani and Ayurvedic Medicine, University of Kashmir.
Dr Muzamil Andrabi, Deputy Head CSIR- IIIM, Srinagar. Speaking during the seminar, the dignitaries talk about the importance of Unani medicine in general and importance of conduct the seminar. During the inaugural session vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Irfat Ara, Deputy Director, RRIUM Srinagar.
Various experts delivered lectures during the seminar on various topics discussing the importance of Unani Medicine in child and Maternal Healthcare.
Discussions in the significance of child Healthcare, trends in regimenal Therapies, and the pivotal role of Unani Medicine in managing common pediatric diseases were held. The comprehensive approach to Maternal and child Healthcare, along with focus on holistic women’s well-being, added depth to the insightful event.
