Srinagar, Jan 27: Real Kashmir Football Club’s (RKFC) U-17 team is set to participate in the prestigious AIFF’s Elite Youth League, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad.
The U-17 squad of RKFC is the only team from Jammu and Kashmir to have qualified for this national-level tournament. A contingent comprising 20 players, along with the coaching and technical staff, has already flown to Hyderabad to participate in the league. The team is scheduled to play its first match on January 28.
This milestone marks another step in RKFC’s journey to elevate the footballing culture in Jammu and Kashmir, inspiring young athletes to pursue the sport at higher levels
Over the past several weeks, the players have undergone rigorous training to prepare for the competition. The squad features talented young players from various parts of the Kashmir Valley, reflecting the club’s commitment to nurturing grassroots talent.
RKFC owner Arshad Shawl said, “We have been scouting grassroots talent across Jammu and Kashmir and providing them with a platform to compete at the national level. This initiative aims to promote football and empower young players in the region.”
The RKFC management extended its gratitude to Lava Mobiles and Crax for sponsoring the U-17 team, enabling their participation in the league.
Meanwhile, RKFC’s senior team is actively competing in the ongoing I-League, further solidifying the club’s reputation as a key contributor to Indian football.
