Srinagar Nov 19: Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) defeated Rajasthan United FC in the first home game of Hero I-League 2022-2023 on Saturday at Synthetic Turf TRC Srinagar.
Thousands of people had come to watch the game as it was after two years that an I-League match was being played in Srinagar. They were supporting and cheering for the local team.
It was RKFC’s Lamine Moro who made the first goal through a penalty in the 19th minute in the first half of the match through a direct header. Then Jerry OnesmasPulamte made the second goal in the second half of the game.
Morro said they were pleased to play in front of local fans of RKFC. “It was not an easy game and was a tough one. But we worked as a team and won it,” he said.
RKFC’s coach Mehraj Uddin Wadoo said he was happy with the performance of players. “Boys gave their best to what we were looking for. We have to be very consistent for our next home game which is on November 22. We are prepared for that.  It is a great season for us till now as we earlier won the match against Naroca FC,” he said.
Wadoo said they were very happy with the fans as it has been after two years that I-League matches are being played in Srinagar. “I League is back as fans back,” he added.
Earlier, RKFC defeated Naroca FC at the KhumanLampak stadium Imphal. It was Issahak Nuhu’s strike that sealed all three points for the team in that match. Now the team has reached six points.
