The recently released trailer of the highly anticipated web series ‘Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond’ has garnered immense interest and excitement among viewers, promising a narrative filled with intrigue, action, and intense character dynamics. Featuring stars like Lara Dutta, Jimmy Shergill, and Ashutosh Rana, the trailer has captivated audiences with its captivating cinematography, visual composition, and gripping scene sequences, setting the stage for its release on April 25th.
Set against the backdrop of the Balakot airstrike following the Pulwama terrorist attack in 2019, ‘Ranneeti’ offers a behind-the-scenes look at the watershed event, promising to deliver an immersive exploration of warfare and its human dimensions. Director Santosh Singh described the series as a promising addition, offering viewers a thrilling portrayal of power, conflict, and the human spirit.
In an exclusive conversation with Rising Kashmir, the cast and crew of ‘Ranneeti’ discussed the stunning depiction of battle sequences showcased in the series. They highlighted meticulously choreographed combat scenes and sweeping aerial shots capturing the scale of warfare, promising viewers a cinematic experience that rivals big-budget productions.
Cinematographer of the web series, Tanveer Mir, who has been a part of several blockbusters in Bollywood and south cinema said, “As they say cinematographer is the eyes of the director, so when I approached Ranneeti, I read the script I took the narration, then I had to build a world in my mind depicting how do I see it, how do I capture it and how to I visualize it. Cinematographic part was more of deciding what colours you are going to use, what lights you are going to use , and how are you going to write it up.”
“For example if you are shooting a horror film you approach horror differently, you approach thriller differently or you approach romantic saga differently’, Tanveer said.
Adding, “The colour scheme is different for every genre. You visualise you make a world around the script , how you are trying to tell that story. For Ranneeti the world I built after reading the script was, how do I approach it , what camera I am going to use, and whether it is helping my story telling.”
One of the lead actors in the web series, Jimmy Shergill said that “Ranneeti” was not merely about spectacle but also delves into the human aspect of warfare. The trailer teases complex characters grappling with moral dilemmas, strategic decisions, and personal vendettas amidst the chaos of battlefields, Jimmy said.
The human element adds layers of depth to the narrative, transforming it into more than just a series about war but a story about the individuals caught in its unforgiving grip.
As anticipation builds for the release of ‘Ranneeti,’ the trailer has sparked discussions and speculation, positioning the series as a must-watch for enthusiasts of war-centric narratives and compelling storytelling.
