Srinagar, May 08: Kashmir Hotel & Restaurant Association (KHARA) and Kashmir Hotel & Restaurant Owners Federation (KHAROF), which are jointly called Coordination Khara-Kharof, have called upon all their members to refund the advance payment, if any, received by them from any in-bound tourists who were scheduled to travel by Go-Air services to the valley.
Any complaint of non-compliance by any member-hotelier or guest house owner in this regard shall invite FIR against him or them, the Coordination Khara-Kharof said in a statement.
Apart from the above, they are also notified that they should prepare tariffs for their hotels or guest houses on a realistic basis as per the standard/category of hotel and facilities provided to their guests, it said while warning that any black marketing or arbitrary charging of rates from the guests or tourists will be seriously dealt with by the Department of Tourism, Government of J&K.
“This has been issued with the directions passed by the Secretary to the Government, Department of Tourism & Culture, Government of J&K, today in a broad-based meeting held by him with all tourism and hospitality stakeholders,” the statement said.
Coordination Khara-Kharof said it is “immensely grateful” to Secretary Tourism & Culture, for “evincing a positive and promising perspective approach” towards the tourism & hospitality industry of J&K.
