Jammu, Jan 09: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and MLA East Constituency, Yudhvir Sethi said he has facilitated the retrieval of nearly 4.5 kanals of encroached land in Bain Bajalta.
The MLA in a statement said the reclaimed land, belonging to the revered Shishu Samadhai, used for the cremation of children of the Hindu community, has now been restored to its rightful custodians.
Sethi said the issue was brought to his notice by concerned locals, who expressed deep anguish over the encroachment of this sacred space. Acknowledging the importance of the matter, Sethi said he took immediate action and worked tirelessly with the local administration to resolve the issue.
Following Sethi’s intervention, the land was retrieved in the presence of the Local Tehsildar and handed back to the villagers. “This resolution not only underscores the MLA’s commitment to the welfare of his constituency but also highlights his dedication to preserving cultural and community landmarks,” the statement said.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi reiterated his unwavering resolve to protect public assets and ensure justice for the community. “The Shishu Samadhai holds immense significance for the Hindu community, and its sanctity cannot be compromised. My team and I will continue to work relentlessly to safeguard such sacred spaces and address the concerns of our people,” he said.
The villagers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Yudhvir Sethi for his proactive involvement and determined efforts to reclaim the encroached land, the statement said, adding that they lauded his leadership and commitment to the well-being of the community.
