Jammu, Jan 19: Security Jammu has issued guidelines for the people participating in the Republic Day celebration this year.
In this regard, Senior Superintendent of Police, Security Jammu, Swarn Singh Kotwal, on Thursday issued detailed information regarding Dos and Don’ts for the general public in connection with the observance of the national event in the region.
He said that great public participation is expected in the Republic Day function so Security Jammu has sought cooperation from the visitors to facilitate their safe and comfortable entry and partaking in the event at M A Stadium.
As per a public notice issued in this regard, the people have been asked not to carry cell phones, cameras, arms/ammunition, sharp-edged weapons, handbags, polythene bags, transistors, toys, tools, stopwatches, any kind of powder, inflammable material like cigarettes, matchboxes and lighter and related objectionable items while entering the venue.
The general public has further been advised to extend full cooperation to the frisking and checking teams deployed at different gates which are in fact meant for their own safety and the peaceful culmination of the Republic Day function, according to the notice. Besides, the expected visitors have also been asked to maintain a queue while entering the gates through Door Frame Metal Detector installed at the gates and avoid unnecessary altercations with security personnel.
The notice has also advised the public to ensure their presence well in time so that they could enter the venue and be seated comfortably without any inconvenience. “Do not hesitate to disclose your identity in case you are requested for the same by security personnel or the uniformed police personnel,” the notice explained. “Proper parking slots have been earmarked for all categories and types of vehicles. The public can seek help from traffic police personnel for parking their vehicles at the appropriate parking places.”
Security Jammu has fervently appealed to the public to immediately inform the police personnel on duty in case of any suspicious person or item is noticed without touching the same.
