Jammu, June 13: Pt.Keshav Bhat Jyotshi’s Death Anniversary was Observed in Jammu wherein Scholars and Civil Society paid rich floral tribute to the revered Sanskrit scholar
A stalwart in the field of Sanskrit studies, Karam Kand, Rituals, Almanac, Astronomic studies Shri Jyotishi left an indelible mark on the world of academia, Civilizational studies with his profound knowledge and contributions. His transliteration from Sharda Lipi to Sanskrit and collation of traditional cultural moorings, in particular priesthood text, religious scriptures is a monumental and unparallel contribution to Sanskrit Civilization of India. Pandit Kashev Bhat Jyotshi Ji’s, contribution is a bridge between the ancient/medieval Bharat to the moderns civilisation.
The day commenced with recitation of Gayatri Mantra and was observed with speaches by eminent speakers in presence of his great grand children , Shiban Ji Jyotshi and others along with eminent KP Civil Society members. Among those who spoke on the annual occasion organised by Rainawari KP Action Committee were S/Shri Shiban JI Jyotishi, Dr. Dilip Pandita, Ramesh Kaw, Kakroo, Ravi Mahaldar, PN Raina. At the end a resolution was passed appealing the government that Shri JYotshi Ji’s work should be recognised by conferring him with suitable Padma Award and name Sanskrit Departmets of the Universities in J&K on his name.
The program was anchored by Virender Dembi an educationist and vote of thanks was expressed by B.L.Jalali, President, Rainawari KP Action Committee.
