Baramulla, Jan 17: The birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, known as Parkash Purab, was celebrated with unparalleled religious fervor across Baramulla, culminating in a grand function at Gurudwara Chattipatsahi Baramulla. Despite the harsh cold weather, devotees thronged the city’s Gurdwaras to participate in special prayers and sermons, paying obeisance at the sacred sites.
The main highlight of the celebration was the completion of Shri Akhand Path Sahib, followed by the soulful recitation of Gurbani kirtan by the Ragis. Baramulla police had meticulously organized security arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the program, underscoring the significance of the event.
Distinguished guests, including DC Baramulla Minga Shirpa (IAS), and several officers from the Army, visited Gurudwara Chattipatsahi to partake in the celebrations. Addressing the gathering, DC Baramulla extended heartfelt congratulations to the Sikh community on Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s birth anniversary.

President DGPC Baramulla, Paramjeet Singh Ji, expressed his warm wishes for the occasion, emphasizing the significance of peace, harmony, and brotherhood in Jammu and Kashmir. He urged people to follow the teachings of Guru Ji, aiming for a path that leads to unity and compassion.
The celebrations concluded with the serving of langar to the devotees, symbolizing the spirit of community and shared humanity as advocated by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The event not only marked a religious milestone but also showcased the communal harmony and unity prevailing in Baramulla.
