Srinagar, Mar 07: In a rare spectacle, thousands of enthusiastic crowd descended upon Bakshi Stadium in Kashmir, forming serpentine queues on Thursday to attend Prime Minister NarendraModi’srally. The fervor and anticipation were palpable as attendees patiently waited for seven hours, eager to catch a glimpse of the PM and hear his address.
From the early hours of 5 am, a sea of people lined up, enduring the lengthy wait until the lines dissolved around 12:30 PM. The overwhelming turnout, with many sporting tricoloured turbans, posed a formidable challenge for security personnel tasked with crowd management.
Modi’s visit marked his inaugural appearance in Kashmir since the landmark abrogation of Article 370 . During the rally, he unveiled a slew of development projects and engaged with beneficiaries of various central schemes and initiatives under the ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu Kashmir’ program.
The people expressed gratitude and admiration for the PM’s leadership. MohdHussain, a resident of Kupwara, extolled Modi for realizing the dreams and aspirations of the masses, while Shahid Amin from Bandipora credited the PM’s policies for revitalizing his business and fostering stability in the region.
Chanting “Ab Ki Baar 370 Paar,” MohdAfzal from Pulwama hailed Modi as the champion of the poor, citing significant benefits accrued through various agricultural schemes.
The unprecedented turnout underscored PM Modi’s widespread popularity and the BJP’s burgeoning influence in the region ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, slated for later this year.
