Ganderbal, Feb 05: In the aftermath of the recent snowfall, the District Administration in Ganderbal has accomplished substantial progress in the vital task of snow removal from internal contact roads across the district.
The PMGSY has effectively cleared a significant 145-kilometer stretch of internal contact roads, while the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department has admirably addressed the snow removal from a vast 340-kilometer section out of the total 370-kilometer area.
Utilizing heavy machinery such as JCBs and Tractors, the clearing operations commenced promptly on Sunday, ensuring that the roads crucial for internal connectivity are swiftly brought back to normalcy.
An official from the PMGSY department highlighted their proactive approach, stating, “We initiated the clearance operation early on Sunday morning Yesterday focusing on link roads to preempt any inconvenience caused by the snowfall. Men and machines have been strategically deployed to expedite the snow removal process.”
The official added, “Our department has successfully cleared 145 kilometers of snow-covered roads within our jurisdiction, and we remain committed to ensuring the seamless movement of the people of Ganderbal.”
Similarly, representatives from the R&B Department reported their early morning operations covering key link roads in areas including Lar, Waliwar, Safapora, Baroosa, Manigam, Shallabugh, Dab, Wakura, Kangan,Gund, Rezan, Gutlibagh, Urpesh, Nunner, and other regions of the district.
Emphasizing their achievement, the R&B official stated, “The department has efficiently cleared 340 kilometers of roads within the 370-kilometer area, exemplifying our commitment to restoring accessibility for the residents of Ganderbal.”
