Ganderbal, Aug 14: The Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department in Ganderbal has successfully macadamized over 32 kilometers of road in the district so far this year, significantly improving road connectivity for the local population. This development is part of an ongoing effort to enhance transportation infrastructure across Ganderbal.
Executive Engineer of R&B Ganderbal, Tathher Manzoor, said that the macadamization of various roads has been progressing steadily throughout the district. “We have completed nearly 32 kilometers of macadamization work across several link roads,” he stated, highlighting the department’s commitment to providing better road conditions for residents.
He said that the department has been proactive in deploying both personnel and machinery to ensure the timely completion of these projects. “Our teams have been working tirelessly over the past few months to macadamize roads across Ganderbal. This initiative is crucial for improving connectivity, especially in far-flung areas,” he added.
In addition to the macadamization efforts, the R&B Department has also addressed rough patches and potholes under a dedicated scheme. This initiative is expected to offer much-needed relief to commuters who have long faced difficulties due to poor road conditions.
He assured that the remaining roads scheduled for blacktopping would be addressed under various schemes. “Providing road connectivity to remote areas remains our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring that existing roads are maintained and improved,” he concluded, Tatheer Manzoor added.
