Jammu, Dec 19: Senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana on Tuesday described the sky as the limit for young students to excel in academics and extracurricular activities, saying this can be translated into reality by enhancing interpersonal relationships between teachers, students and parents.
Speaking at the 14th Annual Day function of Chenab Valley Public School, Ranjan, Rana said such an interactive relationship assumes more significance at the basic schooling level. He exhorted parents in particular to have frequent interaction with teachers to monitor the progress of their children regularly. For this purpose, the management will have to cooperate and maintain the best academic standards to shape the destiny of children as per the needs of the fast-changing competitive world, he said.
Rana, who was the chief guest at the Annual Day Function, lauded the role of private schools in the spread of education and exuded confidence that their efforts would help achieve higher levels of literacy in the rural areas of the state. He complimented students, especially those who participated in various activities for their performance, saying the Annual Day Function is a special occasion for parents and their wards.
The function began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, which was followed by Ganesh Vandana. The main attraction of the function was the medley of dance performances on the themes of Save water, Save Life, National Integration and Save Girl Child. The tiny toddlers of the kindergarten section also performed the foot-tapping dance numbers. The centre of attraction of the whole cultural fiesta was the enactment of the message of the Bhagavad Gita by the students.
This was followed by a welcome address by the Chairman, Rachpal Singh, who dwelt on the journey of fourteen years of perseverance and hard work, which has culminated in the progress of the institute.
Principal Dheeraj Thakur presented the Annual Report, highlighting the achievements of the School in the last year. The students who were achievers in academics in the last session were felicitated by the chief guest.
Devender Rana congratulated the Chairman, Principal and staff of the school for the stupendous show, imparting quality education and providing a platform for the holistic development of students. He hoped the institution will progress by leaps and bounds in the future.
Later, the Chairman and the Principal presented a memento to the chief guest. The function concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
