Jammu, Jan 25: Officers and railway employees of the Jammu Division of Northern Railway continue to demonstrate exemplary dedication towards ensuring the safety, convenience, and secure travel of passengers.
As part of their commitment, railway staff regularly perform commendable acts during the course of duty, enhancing the image of the railways and strengthening public trust. Adding to these efforts, employees of the Commercial and Operating departments of the Jammu Division displayed outstanding professionalism on January 24, prioritising passenger safety and convenience.
In one incident, Senior Ticket Inspector Abdul Rashid, along with his checking staff, was conducting ticket checks on Platform 1 at Jammu Railway Station around noon when they noticed a young girl sitting alone and visibly frightened.
The staff approached the girl, but she was unable to communicate. Displaying presence of mind and to ensure her safety, they immediately informed the Government Railway Police (GRP).
Upon enquiry by the police, the girl revealed that she was from Roorkee and had been separated from her parents during the journey.
The GRP subsequently contacted her parents and assured them of the child’s safety. The parents expressed their gratitude to the railway authorities and staff for their timely intervention.
