The final leg of the Bharat Jodo yatra of Congress led by Rahul Gandhi resumed from Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar district on Sunday Morning.
Rahul Gandhi will unfurl the national flag in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar.
The entire area around Lal Chowk has been sealed off and multi-layer security has been deployed around the city.
On Saturday, People Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra joined the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Yatra in South Kashmir.
However, on the day of entering Kashmir (Friday), the yatra was ‘called off’ for the day in view of a security lapse, which triggered heavy criticism by party leaders against the centre and Jammu and Kashmir administration for failing to manage the crowd.
Rahul Gandhi had to “cancel” the yatra due to an alleged security lapse at Quazigund.
