Rajkot, Oct 20: After scoring a cracking century in the last match against formidable Delhi, aggressive opening batter Qamran Iqbal scored another thunderous ton against Saurashtra on Sunday as almost all the batsmen made merry to guide Jammu and Kashmir to a good score of 250/3 in 67 overs against Saurashtra before heavy rains lashed Niranjan Shah Stadium Ground-C here.
Batting first, Jammu and Kashmir lost early wicket in the form of opener Qazi Junaid (02) before the explosive duo of Qamran Iqbal and Musaif Ajaz made a partnership of 126 runs to take the score to 136/2 when Musaif fell at his individual score of 41 runs off 73 balls with 3 fours and a six.
Qamran continued brilliance and smashed quick-fire 109 off just 90 balls, studded with 16 fours and 2 massive sixes. He simply butchered the rival bowlers with utmost ease and sheer brilliance.
After Musaif and Qamran departed, it was skipper Kanhaiya Wadhawan and Yawer Hassan who took the score to 250/3 in 67 overs before the rain played spoilsport and the day’s play was called off.
Kanhaiya was at the crease with 48 off 123 balls with 7 fours, while Yawer was at the other end on 49 off 98 balls including 5 hits to the fence.
Maurya Ghoghari took 2 wickets for Saurashtra by conceding 79 runs in his 22 overs, while Neel Pandya claimed one wicket.
