Pulwama Cricket League-2023 concludes; Gudoora Cricket Club emerged as winners

Pulwama, Oct 09: Pulwama Cricket Leage-2023 concluded on Monday with a colourful closing ceremony after the final match of the tournament was played at Sports Stadium Pulwama.
On the occasion, SSP Pulwama Shri Mohd Yousif-JKPS was the Chief Guest. DySP DAR DPL Pulwama, DySP Ops. Pulwama, Prob. DySP Shivam Jagi, Prob. DySP Vikram Koundal, SHO PS Pulwama, other officers of district and a huge number of spectators & sports lovers of the district also attended the closing ceremony.
In the Final match of the T20 cricket tournament, Gudoora Cricket Club emerging victorious by defeating Chandgam Cricket Club by 21 runs. The tournament was played on knock-out basis in which 16 teams from different areas of Pulwama-belt participated with great enthusiasm, passion and valour.
At the closing ceremony, SSP Pulwama stressed the participants that Police aims to provide opportunities for them to chase their dreams. He also said that these sports events are more than just games as it keeps people fit and away from negative influences. SSP Pulwama thanked the cricket lovers & the participating teams for their sportsmanship and enthusiasm during the tournament.
Following the final match, SSP Pulwama, honoured the outstanding performance of the teams. Trophies and medals were presented to both the winner and the runner-up team. Recognizing their commendable efforts, the winning team received a cash prize of ₹20,000/- while the runner-up team was awarded ₹10,000/-. Individual excellence was acknowledged as well, with Momin Shafi earning the prestigious Man of the Match award, which included a Cricket Bat & Trophy. Murtaza Nabi was lauded as the Man of the Series, receiving the coveted Sports Kit & Trophy. SSP Pulwama expressed gratitude to the players, spectators, and all those who contributed to the success of the event.
