Pulwama, March 13: The two-day District Pulwama Ball Badminton Championship concluded with great fanfare on Friday. The championship was held from March 12 to March 13 at Bajwani, Tral.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 110 players from all zones of District Pulwama. The championship was a huge success, with players showcasing their skills and competing with great zeal.
Mir Mashooq, Incharge of South Kashmir, National People’s Front, graced the closing ceremony as the special guest. He assured full support to the players and encouraged them to continue pursuing their passion for the sport. The players expressed extreme happiness and gratitude towards the District Pulwama Ball Badminton Association for organising and providing such a platform. They were thankful to the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gul, for providing support and opportunities to showcase their talent.
The Organising Secretary paid immense gratitude to Miss Arsheena Khan, General Secretary of the J&K Ball Badminton Association and Vice President of (Ball Badminton Federation of India and Umar Rasool President of the J&K Ball Badminton Association, for taking Ball Badminton to new heights and working tirelessly for the betterment of sports athletes. Their efforts have provided numerous opportunities for the players and young athletes.
The selected players from this championship will now showcase their talent at the upcoming J&K UT Level Ball Badminton Championship, providing them with an opportunity to compete at a higher level. The event was a great success, with both boys and girls participating in the championship. Medals, trophies, and momentum were distributed among the winning players, acknowledging their hard work and dedication. The Guests of Honour at the closing ceremony included President J&K Floorball Association, Irshad Ahmad Dar, and International Martial Arts player Fazan Ul Fayaz. Other prominent personalities who attended the event included social activist Basir Ahmad, sports journalist and activist Haziq Javaid, national players, Umar Bashir Shah, Dharamveer Singh, Amit Singh, Hammad Basir, Yasir, Athar Hussain and several others.
The District Pulwama Ball Badminton Association expressed its gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, the Jammu and Kashmir Ball Badminton Association, and all the organizers, officials, coaches, parents, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the event.
