Publication of draft electoral roll begins in Pulwama: DC

Pulwama, April 05 : Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer ul Haq Chaudhary, on Wednesday announced qualifying dates for publication of integrated draft electoral roll under special summary revision of electoral roll for the southern district.
Talking to the media during a press conference here, the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, announced that the publication of the draft electoral roll will begin from 5 April till 20 April, 2023.
He said that during these 15 days which include both the beginning and closing dates camps will be set at all polling stations in the district for preparing the draft electoral roll.
He said that all eligible voters who are 18 years old or those who will turn 18 from 1 July to 31 October, 2023 can avail registration forms for registering themselves in the voter list.
He added that all stakeholders who have any claims or objections can file them during these 15 days at their nearest polling stations.
“ Besides these camps there will be special camps for special summary revision of electoral roll at every tehsil headquarter in the district on 9 April and 20 April, 2023,” he said.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to people to take part in this process with full zeal and zest at both the places to make it more vibrant and transparent.
The deputy commissioner announced that the final electoral draft will be published on 10 May, 2023.
The deputy commissioner said that the aim of this exercise is to convey the qualifying dates to all stakeholders which include eligible voters, political parties and general public and seek rectifications or corrections if needed so that the list becomes flawless and transparent.
