Says no more misappropriation by dynastic parties
Terrorism no longer a barrier to dev in J&K, Modi govt stands firm
Jammu holds key to power for first time, will decide future of J&K govt
‘Out of 13 CMs, why not even 1 from Jammu?’
JAMMU, Sept 29: Union Minister and J&K Assembly Election In-Charge, G Kishan Reddy, Sunday, said that for the first time since the abrogation of Article 370, audits are being conducted across all departments in Jammu and Kashmir to ensure public funds are used for the welfare of the people and not misappropriated.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP media center, Reddy emphasized that previous dynastic parties had misused public money for personal gains before the revocation of Article 370. “Before the abrogation, there was no audit, and these parties looted public funds to build their castles,” Reddy said, adding that the current government has initiated thorough audits in departments such as Irrigation, Public Works Department (PWD), and Rural Development Department (RDD).
“Audit is now a crucial tool to ensure that people’s money is directed towards development and not into the wrong hands,” he noted.
Reddy also highlighted that terrorism had acted as the primary obstacle to Jammu and Kashmir’s development. “Earlier, lakhs of crores were sent to J&K for development, but terrorism served as the main speed breaker,” he said, adding that the Modi government’s stance of “zero tolerance” towards terrorism would soon see it eradicated from the region.
In a significant remark, Reddy said this was the first time since India’s independence that Jammu held the key to power. He asserted that the people of Jammu would take full advantage of this historic opportunity by electing their government. “Jammu will decide the next government in J&K for the first time,” he declared.
Citing the 13 former Chief Ministers of the state, including Sheikh Abdullah, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and Mehbooba Mufti, Reddy questioned why no Chief Minister had ever emerged from Jammu. “This time, Jammu will decide the future of J&K, and the BJP will form the government on its own,” he added confidently.
Reddy took aim at the opposition parties, accusing Congress of disrespecting Maharaja Hari Singh and the current Lieutenant Governor by labeling him an “outsider.” He further criticized Congress, the National Conference (NC), and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for their roles in fostering terrorism and bloodshed in J&K.
“These three dynastic parties are not concerned with the welfare of the people. They are against democracy, while the Modi government restored grassroots democracy by holding Panchayat elections,” he said.
Reddy concluded by saying that Congress had already conceded defeat in the upcoming elections and would struggle to open its account in the Jammu region. “This is a historic time when Jammu will take the lead and decide the next government for the Union Territory,” he stated.
