PTTI Vijaypur concludes basic training programme for SPOs

Vijaypur, March 3: The Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur Monday concluded its first-ever four-week Basic Training Programme for Special Police Officers (SPOs). The course, conducted under the directives of Police Headquarters (PHQ) J&K, saw the participation of 480 SPOs from various districts of Jammu Province, including Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban.
A valedictory ceremony was held to mark the occasion, with SSP Dushyant Sharma, Principal PTTI Vijaypur, as the chief guest. In his address, he commended the trainees for their dedication and urged them to serve with commitment, enhancing the effectiveness and public-friendly approach of the force. The training programme focused on physical fitness, drill (with and without arms), weapon handling, and other operational skills, as per the prescribed syllabus. Special lectures were delivered by the PTTI indoor faculty and guest speakers to enrich the trainees’ knowledge and skillset.
The principal also praised the institute’s staff for their commitment to delivering high-quality training within a short span of just one month and lauded the SPOs for their discipline, dedication, and enthusiasm. Among those present at the valedictory function were Raj Kumar (SrPO), Asif Iqbal (SrPO), DySP Davinder Gupta (Tech), DySP Khushwant Singh (Admn), DySP Bhagwan Dass (Outdoor), DySP Surinder Paul Singh (R&D), Inspector Anil Kumar (CDI), Inspector Javeed Hussain (RI), SI Sulinder Singh (SM) and SI Shakeel Singh (LO).
