Srinagar Apr 17: Vice Chairperson (HVC) J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) Dr Hina Shafi Bhat on Monday exhorted the district officers of the board to work in a transparent manner and provide all types of handholding support to the youth for the success of their ventures. She also gave on-the-spot instructions to them that cases should not be pending beyond 45 days.
Chairing a meeting to review the performance of different schemes being implemented by the Board in UT of J&K, Dr Hina advised the participating officers to act as catalysts in percolating the benefits of the government schemes to local masses.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Board and District Officers of the Kashmir Division. It was informed in the meeting that during the financial year 2022-23, Margin Money to the tune of Rs 144.94 crore has been released for the establishment of 6828 units (including 2732 for women entrepreneurs) under various Employment generation programmes viz JKREGP/PMEGP thereby envisaging employment to fifty-three thousand entrepreneurs approximately. Vice Chairperson stressed the need for the active involvement of field officers in propagating and disseminating the aims and objectives of JKREGP and PMEGP Schemes among the target group.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairperson J&K KVIB stressed upon all the district officers to ensure that women entrepreneurship will be given thrust to empower the women financially in the UT. She called upon strengthening the credit dispensation in all districts of the UT and said there should be zero tolerance for corruption.
