Properties of drug smugglers worth Rs 41.85 lacs attached in Baramulla: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said that they have attached properties of drug smugglers worth Rs 41.85 lakhs in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A Police spokesperson said, Baramulla Police led by Shokat Ali-JKPS SDPO Uri attached an newly constructed house value approx. 11.46 lacs and vehicle Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK05D-3680 value approx. 5.00 lacs belonging to drug Smuggler namely Mohammad Naseer Bhatti S/O Nasar Din Bhatti R/O Madiyan Kamalkote after obtaining legal sanction from competent authorities. The said house was linked to case FIR No. 12/2023 u/s 8/21, 29 NDPS Act of Police Station Uri. The investigation proved that the said movable immovable property was raised/ used for Illicit Trafficking* by the drug Smuggler.

“Moreover, 1.17 Kgs of contraband Brown Sugar & cash amounting 25.39 lacs was recovered at the time of raid conducted at Kamalkote Uri from the Drug smugglers namely Mohammad Naseer Bhatti S/O Nasar Din Bhatti, Mohammad Rayaiz Khanday S/O Mohammad Shareef, Mohamad Pazeer Khanday S/O Abdul Majid & Mohammad Fayaz Khanday S/O Mohammad Sharief all residents of Madiyan Kamalkote”, he said.

General people of the area hailed the initiative of Baramulla Police with regard to attachment of moveable/ immovable property which has been raised/ used for Illicit Trafficking by the drug smugglers in the district.

People showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship.
