Srinagar, Oct 12: In line with implementation of uniform academic calendar, private schools have been directed to submit requisite files before the Committee for Fixation and Regulation of Fee (FFRC) before three months of commencement of new academic session.
Chairperson of FFRC Justice (Retd) Muzaffar Hussain Attar in an order said, “The FFRC on January-19-2021 directed all Private Schools of UT of Jammu and Kashmir to submit information as per the proforma devised by the committees for approval of fee structure within 30 days.”
He said that on the request of Private school Associations and individual schools, the time period for submission of files was extended from time to time and a final opportunity was given to private schools to submit files by or before 30th of September 2021.
“Individual schools and school associations again approached the Committee for extension in the date of submission of files citing different reasons for non- submission of files by or before September-30-2021,” Attar said, adding that the Committee considered the request and extended the date up to May-25-2022.
He said that the government of Jammu and Kashmir has made the uniform admission calendar operational in the whole UT of Jammu and Kashmir. “Now therefore in line with uniform academic Calendar, all private schools of UT of Jammu and Kashmir are directed to submit files for Fixation and Regulation of fee before December-31.”
Attar said, “The failure to submit requisite information in terms of Rule 8 A and 8 C will attract action and ‘the committee shall recommend to the appropriate authority to bar the private school from taking any new admission for next academic year or to impose a fine equivalent to 10 percent of total revenue generated by the Private school or society in the preceding year, as applicable.”
“In addition, the committee may recommend to the appropriate authority for taking actions like taking over the management of the private school until it submits a proposal and once the management of the Private school has been taken over, the Government shall appoint an administrator not below the rank of sub-divisional magistrate as administrative head of school to ensure its smooth functioning at the cost of schools funds,” reads the order.
