Principals should be trained for financial, administrative challenges: Jt Dir SCERT

Jammu, Jan 21: There is a dire need to train the newly promoted principals for the smooth functioning of the schools, Joint Director, JKSCERT, Jammu, H R Pakhroo said on Saturday.
He was addressing at a five-day capacity building programme for Principals of Higher Secondary Schools on School Leadership Development Program (SLDP) held from January 17 to 21 in SCERT J&K Divisional Office Jammu which concluded on Saturday.
The programme was attended by 37 Principals from the winter zone of Jammu Division. The aim and objective of the programme was to orient the newly inducted Principals regarding the financial and administrative challenges while serving as Principal. They were oriented about the General Financial Rules, PFMS, GeM, Leave Rules, Income Tax Rules, Pension Rules, Leadership Skills, Team Building, Role of Career Counselling and NSS in Higher Secondary schools.
The programme was organised by Department of Educational Planning Monitoring and Management, Academic Unit III JKSCERT Jammu under the guidance and supervision of H R Pakhroo, Joint Director, JKSCERT, Jammu.
The Joint Director inaugurated the programme formally in the presence of F A Fayaz, Joint Director central and Prof. Surjeet Kumar Sharma, Head Academic Unit III. The welcome address was presented by Neeraj Jandial, Associate Professor, Academic Unit-III, JKSCERT Jammu.
The valedictory function was chaired by Joint Director SCERT Jammu. In his valedictory address he encouraged and motivated the Principals to work with zeal and zest and act upon the learning they achieved in the 5 days training programme. A vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Surjeet Kumar Sharma, Head Academic Unit III.
