Principal Secy culture inaugurates Hindi Pakhwada

Jammu, Sept 15: Principal Secretary, Culture, Brij Mohan Sharma today inaugurated “Hindi Pakhwada” Celebration Programs during the inaugural event organised by the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages at K.L. Saigal Hall, Jammu.

According to a statement issued here, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from writers, scholars, academicians, and admirers of Hindi language and literature.

In his address, Brij Mohan Sharma lauded the role of JKAACL in documenting and promoting Hindi language and literature through its journals, books, and other publications. He recalled that in 2020, the Government of J&K declared Hindi as one of the official languages alongside Urdu, Kashmiri, Dogri, and English.

Earlier, in her welcome address, Harvinder Kour, Secretary JKAACL, extended greetings on Hindi Diwas and highlighted its historical significance, recalling that on 14 September 1949, Hindi was adopted as the official language of India.

As part of the academic session, Prof. Chanchal Dogra presented a scholarly paper on the status of Hindi in the contemporary world, its relevance in education, technology, and administration, and its role in fostering cultural harmony
